'There is always a demand for excellence'
This maxim is the basis of GCL's business. The company's goal is
to achieve total quality in everything undertaken, and to foster
a culture within which efficiency, innovation and quality performance
are encouraged and rewarded. GCL considers its clients to be its
most important commodity and therefore the finest ambassadors of
its services and products.
In order to ensure that this quality policy is implemented and
maintained a management system has been developed that defines quality
objectives, and that is measured and reviewed at regular management
review meetings. These objectives are periodically reviewed and
subsequently reset and the process repeated.
GCL has also encouraged a flexible and positive attitude towards
implementation of ISO 9001:2000. The directors, who will certify
that this becomes a working document and so ensure that the quality
policy is implemented and maintained, will review the provisions
of this quality manual. The implementation of such a quality programme
is the responsibility of all company employees.
As Approved Cabling Installers for several manufacturers, GCL provides
the necessary link between products and installations. As approved
installers and designers their personnel regularly attend training
centres to learn in-depth procedures for the design and installation
of cabling systems.
Each session is an intensive one-week programme that includes classroom
and hands on training. These programmes are ISO 9001 certified and
based upon the best practises of the relevant ISO and TIA standards,
ensuring the highest level of training worldwide.
In addition, the company has adopted the BICSI route for vocational
qualifications. BICSI is a non-profit making telecommunications
association who provide a high level of professional instruction
on all aspects of design and installation of telecommunications
distribution systems, and offers a registration communications program
that leads to a registered designation for telecommunications cabling
installers. This program includes three levels - Level One, Level
Two and Technician. In addition to these programs BICSI offer the
coveted RCDD qualification considered the ultimate in telecommunications
cabling and design. All GCL engineers are given the opportunity
to develop their skills through this established and effective program.
