The best name on the circuit…
Modelling the concept of a modular voice and data cabling systems
GCL has extended its capabilities to provide similar installation
services for the distribution of electrical power systems.
The distribution of electrical wiring often poses a problem for
many tried and tested solutions. Historically, final sub circuits
are routed back to a centralised location for their termination,
resulting in large amounts of cables requiring support and containment.
The concept of Modular Wiring is consequently becoming increasingly
adopted as the most appropriate solution to final distribution of
electrical and control systems within a building. It is also proving
to be the quickest, most flexible and cost-conscious alternative
to traditional conduit, trunking and busbar systems.
Timeframe and budget requirements dictated by building construction
programmes mean that speed and simplicity are paramount. Both these
considerations influence the reduction in the initial costs as well
as the reduction of those incurred during the lifetime of the building
due to reduced labour and maintenance expenditure.
The
Intelligent Ceiling comprises of armoured and/or
unarmoured system components that simply snap together. Complementary
power and control cables further extend the application. A completely
pre-fabricated installation for all cabling associated with M&E
services is achieved.
The Intelligent Floor
compliments the data and voice zone wiring systems
and has been designed to adapt to the rapid changing workstation/user
requirements prevalent in today's environment. Multiple levels of
system are available serving long established floor box methods
and the increasing trend of floor/cable/wiring grommets.
Branch Cabling has
also been developed to eliminate the additional time demanded for
traditional methods of installation. The present practises for sub
main distribution in risers, hotels, tunnels involve the bolting
together of truncated sections of manufactured and often inconvenient
lengths of steel trunking. Multiple component parts are replaced
in most cases by a single drum. This being assembled within a factory
controlled and testing environment enabling installation in a single
placement. This system approach is suitable in most buildings and
can be found Retail, Wholesale, Warehousing, Leisure and Commercial
Offices.
